Trust Officer
The Trust Officer will provide clients with advice and assistance on trust, foundations, companies and estate planning matters, creating and overseeing said legal structures under the terms of their governing documents. Full time Job.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Assists clients with formation of new trust, foundation, and companies accounts, providing advice concerning types of such legal structures and arrangements that are best suited for the situation.
Collaborates with client’s attorney to draft legal documents specifying trust and estate provisions, duration, and other matters.
Ensures that fiduciary judgment is followed in the investment of the trust funds to protect the best interests of the beneficiaries.
Facilitates the process of transferring funds and assets to and from the corpus of the trust.
Collects income or proceeds from sales of assets and deposits funds in trust accounts.
Facilitates payment of debts, liquidation of liabilities, and disbursement of funds as needed by the beneficiaries and conditions of the trust.
Prepares and reports financial accountings for grantor, beneficiaries, executors, and/or courts as required by specific provisions of a trust agreement.
Prepares, files, and pays, or oversees preparation and payment of applicable taxes for the trust.
Acts as personal financial advisor when specified by the guidelines of the trust agreement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law (at least 1 year).
Experience with a corporate trustee, law firm, or accounting firm.
High level of English (written and spoken).
Intermediate level of Portuguese (desirable).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Understanding of tax law, investments, financial planning, and financial ethics.
Ability to identify appropriate investment options for clients.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact, and professionalism in stressful situations.
Willingness to travel to clients' countries of residence.
Work Modality
Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm I Hybrid.
