Senior Legal Associate
Join Cone Marshall and be part of a dynamic and international legal team based in Zonamerica. We are looking for a Legal Associate (Senior) to work closely with the Head of Legal Services, supporting the delivery of legal services to international clients and supervising the Legal Team’s work.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on the establishment and administration of trusts, foundations, and corporate vehicles in common law and civil law jurisdictions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate trust deeds, resolutions, corporate documents, and legal opinions.
- Advise on estate and succession planning, international tax implications, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external counsel, fiduciaries, and financial institutions.
- Oversee due diligence and compliance procedures related to client structures.
- Monitor legal developments and support the implementation of best practices across jurisdictions.
- Assist with internal knowledge development and mentoring of junior team members when required.
- Report directly to the Head of Legal Services and work collaboratively with the broader legal and fiduciary teams.
Requirements:
Skills and competencies:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in complex cross-border matters.
- In-depth understanding of trust law, corporate law, and international private client matters.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
Education and experience:
- Law degree from a recognized institution.
- At least 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in an international law firm, fiduciary services provider, or financial institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in trust and estate planning, and corporate structuring.
Work modality:
Monday to Friday|Hybrid.
