Main purpose
As a Risk and Market Analyst within our Metals and Minerals Deals Desk, you will play a key role in monitoring and analyzing the performance of trading activity, working closely with commercial teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. From managing deal economics and PnL reporting to analyzing market movements and ensuring risk positions are correctly hedged, this role offers broad exposure to every facet of metals trading.
Key responsibilities
Own the end-to-end PnL process, from deal inception through to final reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with commercial and financial reporting requirements.
Monitor and analyze daily changes in PnL and market exposure, producing clear commentary on variances driven by market conditions, pricing, and basis risk.
Develop and maintain forward curves to mark-to-market open positions, requiring a strong understanding of market fundamentals, trends, and structures.
Ensure all hedging and pricing actions are correctly executed and allocated within the trading system, supporting the company's risk mitigation strategy.
Maintain data integrity across trading platforms, which serve as the foundation for all PnL and exposure reporting.
Continuously review and improve processes and systems to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
Collaborate cross-functionally across business departments, building a comprehensive understanding of physical metals trading operations.
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in economics, Industrial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Accounting, Finance, or other related fields.
Previous work experience in risk analysis or market analysis is desirable.
Knowledge of metals and minerals transactional instruments is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of logistics and deal economics relating to metals and minerals transactions is a plus.
Experience in position, exposure, and commercial PnL reporting.
Market and position analysis skills.
Report writing skills.
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills.
Fluency in English (B2 or above).
Fluency in Spanish (C1 or above).
